Gatley United Reformed Church

Gatley United Reformed Church is a place of worship and community centre serving the local and wider community. A busy hub the centre offers a space for children and toddler groups, sports and fitness groups. The main hall also comes equipped with a large, traditional, proscenium and stage. Having not been maintained or updated for many years the church stage lighting was not operating at its best.

The church felt that to better serve the community and to create a new revenue stream an upgraded performance facilities offering was needed. Stage Studio Projects became involved at the earliest planning stages and working closely with the centre management, helped develop an overall scheme.   

This new scheme consists of an LED church stage lighting system, audio and PA system, stage tracking and full stage drapes, and a new projection screen and projector.

For this scheme we:

• Installed a series of new internally wired lighting bars over the stage and auditorium areas.
• Provided LED stage lighting fixtures and a DMX lighting control console
• Front overlap proscenium drapes, masking legs to the side and a black rear drape creating a black-box stage for performances.
• 0m electrically operated raise and lower projection screen to the stage.
• Installed a new 4500 Lumens projector at high level with inputs for laptop and sound system at low-level.
• 4 x wall mounted loudspeaker cabinets covering the large audience area. Used for productions, dance and events.
• Provided a wheeled rack containing amplifiers, media inputs, cd player
• Wireless microphones and transmitters

We also fitted to the ceiling height hall windows, black-out drapes, so that performances could take place during daylight hours therfore maximising the halls usage.
